City of Deerfield Beach Implements Alerts on Twitter

The City of Deerfield Beach and Mayor Bill Ganz are excited to announce the newest twitter handle created to notify residents when an incident is impacting the public. @DFB_Alerts will let residents know if an accident is affecting traffic, whether police are looking for a missing person and more.

“This is our way of looking out for our community by letting them know what is happening as quickly as possible,” said Mayor Ganz, who promised a city-wide alert system during his campaign.

Since 2014, the City has implemented several social media platforms in order to better engage the public and get information out fast. Deerfield Beach currently has its own Facebook page, @Deerfieldbeachshop on Instagram, CityofDeerfieldBeach on YouTube, @DFB_City on Twitter and now @DFB_Alerts also on Twitter. Thousands of users are getting their information, looking at pictures and watching video on one of the platforms.

“We can either lead the charge or be left behind in this age of information and technology. I want Deerfield Beach to continue to advance and grow in all areas and that includes social media,” said Mayor Ganz.

The twitter handle @DFB_Alerts is available now!
